I want to automate everything I can.
This is the story, with a few frames from training, racing and the sites I've worked on.
It started with property finance.
I grew up in Slovakia and came to London to study. The plan was property finance, and for a while that's exactly what happened.
I started at JTRE London as a Junior Associate, then moved onto the finance side as Finance Manager. Then Sons & Co., as Investment Analyst and now Investment Manager, working alongside the CEO.
Central London developments worth £100M to £700M. I run the due diligence and the financial modelling, write the business plan behind each scheme, take transactions through to completion, and deal with the banks and funders on the debt.
And then it started to annoy me.
Real estate is one of the slowest-moving industries there is, and most of what we did every day could obviously have been done better.
Spreadsheets, email threads, phone calls, the same work redone by hand every month. AI was only just getting started back then, but I was already looking for the bit that could be automated, and there was always one.
BuiltMind was the first proper step.
Back to 2020. JTRE was a full-time job; BuiltMind and my dad's business both ran alongside it, not after it. BuiltMind was pricing algorithms for residential developers. I helped build the engine, brought in the first clients, CRESCO and YIT Slovakia, and we raised $750K from a US venture fund.
I left for personal reasons, but by then I knew this was what I wanted to be doing.
While I was at JTRE, I started helping my dad.
He runs an automotive upholstery business, and working on it around the day job is where it clicked that I wanted to build things rather than analyse them.
There was an opening in the States for what he makes, so we set up the American entity, built the dealer network and landed the partnerships. With him and his team we closed the NYPD and partnered with Setina.
I grew it past $125K in revenue and then handed it back to him.
Most of that network came from the road.
I did a road show across the States to build it. New York down to Washington, then Seattle to San Francisco to Los Angeles by car, meeting anyone who would take a meeting. A few of those nights I slept in airports.
The US has been the market I wanted to build for from the start, and it's where I want to be working from.
Then I met Matúš.
Through Matej Hantabal, who was building his own startup, I met Matúš Koleják, now my co-founder. He was looking for someone to help build a product for interior design and architecture.
He's taught me a lot on the development side, and we build every MeltFlex product together. Not long after, we got into SOSA and went to New York representing Slovakia. That's when it became obvious we could do more than one product.
So we kept building.
TechDraw AI came next, which turns a photo into a dimensioned CAD drawing. Then AI Receptionist Now, then AI Social Media Now.
Alongside the products we've done custom work too, including the website for one of the largest property developers in Slovakia. And from my real estate years came ParkOS, the CRM a UK park home group now runs its whole business on.
Outside work, I race triathlon.
I finished IRONMAN 70.3 at Venice-Jesolo. It's the same discipline as building a company: the race isn't the hard part, the eighteen months of unglamorous work before it is.
Beyond that I'm happiest outside and moving. Looking after my body and my head is what keeps the rest of it working.
